Advocacy and Enlightenment Unit: (AEU)

This is the external interface of the organization responsible for communicating research outcomes, public enlightenment and education with emphasis on family life enrichment, advocacy, and media engagement. We hope to promote violence free family models where members of society are empowered to reduce family dysfunction, violence and abuse. Our work will seek to raise awareness on the common issues and challenges that face modern day families; provide resources for child raising, and reduce the number of children who are exposed to deviant behavior through media and policy engagement.

The following initiatives are critical to the delivery of our mandate: Policy Engagement with government and her agencies responsible for family life matters with a view to invoke the provisions of the universal bill of rights as enshrined in the constitution and other international and regional instruments. Community Engagement through periodic town hall meetings, market enlightenment, traditional rulers, religious leaders and educational institutions. Media engagement through family friendly programming and information that will influence the content of media transmission. Celebration of family models that is practicable and replicable.

Counseling and Referral Unit (CRU)

This is a direct client service unit that provides practical support to a wide range of clientele as a one-stop counseling and referral centre. Made up of experienced experts in the field who come with a vast knowledge of globally accepted standards for age appropriate counseling. This unit also works at referring clients to partner organization that provide other specialized services including government agencies and nongovernmental groups.

IforSFU has a team of professional staff to provide social work and counseling services to those who experience difficulties in their personal, work, marriage and family lives. We believe that counseling is a process of renewing, rebuilding and restoring relationships.

Our staff helps to assess problems, conduct home visits, and provide help where necessary. We provide counseling services to individuals or families in Nigeria who are experiencing difficulties in Parenting, Marital, Financial, Family Violence, and/or Interpersonal issues as well as provide Mandatory Counseling for Court-ordered Clients

Training and Mentoring Unit (TMU)

Our vision for safer families prescribes the need to make available useful resources to members of society that will promote healthy relationships and interaction among family members. Packaged training for counselors, teachers, religious leaders, children, teens and adults are products of this unit with a view to reducing the level of ignorance of best family practices. We strive to link intending and newly married couples to successful families as mentees as well as support groups where the family is going through a crisis.

Research and Development Unit (RDU)

Our goal is to identify and document data on family life patterns, trends, dysfunction, best practices with a view to influence policy interventions that will positively impact on the unit. A periodic survey that provides basic statistics on all matters relating to the family is led by this unit.

Special Development and Intervention Unit (SDIU)

This unit provides special opportunities to babies and children. This is the social enterprise arm of the organization that provides world standard services at affordable rate. The Crèche/Day Care and After School Care for Children and Teenagers is open to the public who needs a serene and child friendly environment for psychomotor and all round development.
