Family Roundtable

The organisation hosts periodic conversations through the Family Roundtable which discusses critical issues affecting the family and proffering solutions through an interactive discourse on how best to deal with these challenges.

Other activities hosted by this platform include Family Retreats, Couples Retreat, Pre-Marital Courses, Children’s’ Conference and Workshops.

This platform was formerly launched in Canada in 2014 as a passion for bridging the knowledge gap for women and girls. For Sisterz Only aims at creating the space for raising awareness on issues affecting women and girls, Mentoring, Sharing Experiences, Documenting Stories of Resilience and providing Skills for women of all ages.The conversations and interventions includes but is not limited to Violence Against Women (VAW), Marriage and marital challenges, Money Matters, Health, Early marriage, Skills Training, professional and informal Mentoring, skills and support group formations.This platform hosts an annual Summit on For Sisterz Only and the Men in their Lives. Gender Based Violence Awareness in Nigeria Project
This awareness project is to enable women and girls raise their voices against violence against women through provision of information that enlightens them about gender-based violence and provides them with easily accessible tools of response.

The activity was organised t mark the 2015 16 Days of Activism to Eliminate Gender based Violence under by IforSFU under the For Sisterz Only platform with the funding support of African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF).

Sexual Violence Awareness Project in secondary Schools

The Sexual violence Awareness Project in Selected Secondary Schools is conceived to encourage a conversation among students and build their awareness level on the issues relating to Sexual Violence and immediate response available to them. The objective is ‘To raise early awareness on the existence, forms and effects of sexual violence among 750 Senior Secondary School students using selected schools in Lagos and Ogun States in its pilot phase

At the end of the awareness raising phase, students will be able to identify basic human rights as defined by The Universal Declaration of Human Rights also known as the ‘bill of rights’, the Nigeria Constitution, African Charter on Human and People’s Rights. They will understand the meaning of sexual violence, its forms, effects and practical steps to prevent occurrence.

Interested students will be further trained as Champions who will in return train other students, creating an opportunity for volunteering and one-one mentoring for the students.
